Inspire me Monday.....

Hello and welcome Monday! I've asked my friend Wendy from Shabby Nest to pop over here and let us into her world of inspiration..........

I'm really excited to be here guest posting for the fabulous Kasey! The first time I saw her blog, I knew we would be fast friends. I just love her style...she inspires me daily. She asked me to share some of the things that inspire me. The list is endless, but I've narrowed it down to a few of the key things that help me to be creative.

I am passionate about interior design/decorating, photography and drawing, so much of my inspiration comes from these three things.

Color is a key inspirational force for me. I have always been drawn to a neutral palette. I love whites, warm creams, beige's, caramels, and browns. I also love to throw in some black for drama. I adore Swedish design with it's white on white color schemes.

I would describe my style as "cottage chic" so I gain a LOT of inspiration from vintage pieces. Some of my current faves are grain sacks, chippy architectural pieces, mercury glass and old mirrors.

I also adore typography of all sorts. The shapes of letter and numbers are so intriguing to me. I love their graphic nature.

Photography provides a constant source of inspiration. My Hubby is a professional photographer and his images have inspired me for years...enough so that I decided to take up the camera myself. I love to browse flickr and also to look through the Etsy photography shops at all of the amazing images out there. One of my current favorite websites to visit is picnik.com. It is a free site where you can use their tools to edit your photos. So fun!

And with the demise of so many of my favorite shelter magazines (another favorite source of inspiration) the blogging world has become one of my biggest inspirational sources. I am so amazed at all of the talent in the blogosphere that is so willingly shared with the rest of us!

And of course, my biggest source of inspiration is my family! I have four children...so I am constantly forced to think creatively and to solve problems in new and inspired ways. Thank heavens for my kiddos. I sure would be a dull person without them to keep me on my toes!

Thanks to Kasey for inviting me to join this series!

Thank you Wendy! I actually have those pillows from Marley and Lockyer, and Alicia is one of
my blog crushes. Can a girl have a crush please!

xoxo
