Catching snowflakes......

It's been a very long week.....

not necessarily hard....but long.

This is a rundown:

*I made it to.. two bootcamp classes...and because i went to two of them....i can barely walk...

i can barely get my butt out of bed...and hardly sit in a chair.

*I made it to... two bootcamp classes....and because i went to two of them....i feel stronger...

i actually said no to a bowl of ice cream....but i did say yes to pizza...but that's because i went

to ..two classes.

* I took my kids to see the movie Star Wars......it was playing at this place called the Arcada....which

is a beautifully restored theater here in our historic downtown. My friend and i drank wine...

yes...we drank wine.....and no...we didn't sneak it in ...we actually bought it at the concession stand

while commenting that it's really sad that Star Wars is now considered an old movie unlike when we were growing up..and our parents used to take us to see movies like Gone with the wind...or Heidi.

* I shoveled my own driveway two days in a row.....and i didn't use the snow blower......which means i probably burned more calories......so i don't really need to go to bootcamp next week.

*I have a new appreciation for you single mothers.....

*I will have to implement some new rules come sunday night. Somehow each of the kids has managed

to sneak into my bed each night......

sometimes one child...sometimes all three.......

i have a feeling bryan will be on the sofa when he comes home.

*I actually have a better idea for sunday night.....i think i need to head to a swanky hotel all

by myself......somewhere that serves breakfast in bed.

*I have my ticket to France in hand....and also just renewed my passport. It was a really sad day when i had to write my weight down....and now that just means....i will have to continue this bootcamp drama.

*I think it's time i start to take some public speaking classes....because i might have to actually get up

in front of some people and talk......and i really don't want to drool all over the place while staring ahead

and making a total fool of myself.

*I really wanted to get the rest of my christmas down this week...but it's still up......my middle name is

procrastination.

*You learned two new things this week about me.....i am a procrastinator and i drool in front of people.......

oh....

really three things......because i showed you how much money i save when shopping.

The Hubby spent about 5 months working out of town last year. I know what you mean about having a new appreciation for single moms...AND having your kids climbing in bed with you. I am still waiting for my weekend away at a swanky hotel.

And I am assuming that it is your role as single mom that has kept you from visiting the past couple of days, no? ;-)

Hope all is well...

my hubby works about an hour away and during the winter calving heifers and rounding up cattle from the range he spends about 4 months of the year gone...i'm so glad for a king sized bed when he is away...3 kicking kids make for some long nights ;0) a swanky hotel sounds divine and not in my future...sigh..

Loved the post! I need some bootcamp on my bootie!

My hubs was out of town every week for work from August to December so I too admire single mamas. If you get away to a fancy hotel - please pick me up along the way! Good news is he's at a new job, in town, and always home at night!!

Oh, yes, I don't understand how single parents do it! Yikes.

Wine while at an old theater in a downtown? Sounds amazing.

Nothing wrong with pizza? It's dairy and grains with even some veggies maybe? Right? Nothing wrong with that. I can't get enough of pizza.

Oh, and I LOVE that you visit my blog. I think that is awesome. I love hearing from you. Thank you for your comment today! : )

p.s. LOVE that snowflake picture!

UGH, I need bootcamp.
I wonder if typing the word counts towards anything? Hmmm?

A movie theater with wine? That really would've helped while watching the Chipmunk movie while inhaling a large popcorn. I live in the wrong town!

Bootcamp (to make up for the popcorn)

I would like a swanky hotel and a glass of wine myself..with a big screen TV that I could watch Gone with the Wind in private with my tank top and white pjs with jumping sheep on them..all to myself ....in private...all day long...

Boot camp sounds ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING!!! I am very impressed with you :)

Well done on this week, you are SUPERMOM!

Our cinema only sells beer (I think)....we smuggle in gin and tonics :)

You bought wine at the movies?!!! I can't even think it...wish they did that here :)
It would make some of these kid movies more enjoyable. Lol

Christmas is leaving my house this weekend. It makes me sad. My house will once again be back to normal. That makes me sad and happy. The new year begins in earnest. That makes me happy.

Yay for you and all of your accomplishments.

Ahhh bootcamp. I've always thought about torturing myself in such a manner... but then MY procrastination and geniune disintrest in pain always kept me trying it out. Yoga... I like yoga. :) Always a joy to read your posts. Thanks!

I hear you! I was sad when we moved from a King to a queen bed because my hubby goes away too. It wasn't the 3 kids that would sneak it (or maybe I did 'invite' them.. it was my huge 100lb golden retriever! But it was cosy...enjoy it.

I think I'm beyond bootcamp - I think liposuction is the only hope for me now!!
I love my kids coming to bed with me especially as my son is almost 12 and all too soon there'll come a time when he'll be too big to have a cuddle with Mummy. If my husband ever goes away with work I even take the kids to bed with me mostly because I love doing it but also partly because I have less beds to make in the morning (I'm not stupid!) and I'm scared of the dark (Oh wait - yes I am stupid!).

No bootcamp for me, but I made it to the gym every day this week.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't taken down all of Christmas. I think I'm 98% of the way there. :)

i said yes to ice cream and pizza this week and no to the gym!

don't worry about the speaking thing, you'll be great. :)

We still have our tree up, too...although after Christmas was over I stopped watering it and it's dry to a crisp. The taking it down part will soon follow...

Count your blessings....little ones snuggled in bed with you while your husband is away....one day they'll grow up & you'll wish for these days again...

Oh, and I totally have been snacking on Xmas candy and NOT working out. :) It's wonderful.

Gray...your midle name... dont cha know that's why I picked that color for my bathroom. Not to mention that my daughter named her cat Lola! For real..ha!

Leah C said...

Hey, we've got the same middle name;) I shoveled my driveway {twice} because my husband was on a business trip{the same week we had 2 1/2 snow days}and I believe... 1) being a single parent is really challenging 2)I'm in bad shape b/c I thought I'd die after shoveling & 3} boot camp would probably kill me b/c shoveling snow "kicked my butt"!
