madame butterfly.....

I actually have a free minute to write......my hubby took Mason to the pet shop..to get a fish.

I don't know why...so don't bother asking. The kid wanted a fish.....even though we have a bird....

so they went to peruse the fish isle of the local pet store......{i wonder if i say....I'm ready for my french bulldog....that my hubby will take me to peruse........uh.......i doubt it}.....

I've been hot-gluing these paper butterflies for over 3 hours now......

it's relentless........

makes me want to quit my job......

oops....i don't have a "real" job......

and i can't really leave the children on the side of the street now..can I?!....

well....i did once.....leave them on the side of the street.......

i was SO tired of the arguing....that i pulled the car over.....and pulled them all out......

and you better believe i am NOT going to tell you what REALLY happened because you might

call child services and.......

my mother in law might call me....

and there goes that 'mother of the year award'....again....

and for sure.....i would lose a few followers.......

it does happen.....losing followers......for me at least.

yes...i have been known to lose a few followers.....

alright...where was i???.....

oh.....butterflies.....

do you love butterflies?...i do....i think i like them better then birds now......
and i have an open house this weekend........
with butterflies as the theme.......

which brings me to this:

I'm making some changes......BIG changes..........
or not so big........
one thing i know for sure....
is i love to write......

just know that i am ONE woman....with three children.....and a husband.......who LOVES to blog.......

One thing is for sure...I will always be your follower. I've only lost one and it's ever since the post I did on tough love. Just wait until her kids get to be my son's age. She'll be rushing right back to my blog...hee hee.

Nope..still here..scare me? No way! My Mom stopped the car once because of my sister and I. Lets just say we rode home quiet and she did not get the mother of the year award but whos counting...we grew up just fine. As a matter a fact. I love my sister more than life itself and my Mom..well lets just say sometimes I want her to stop the car and just let me out..hehe~

Don't have a real job...are you kiddding?!?!??
You have the most difficult, creative career ever created or labelled.
CEO of a family. Chief Everything
Officer. Case closed.

Oh how funny...Your story of the kids and the car reminds me of a
"Desperate Housewives" storyline I once saw... and loved. I would not leave following you, some days you remind me of what I am thinking but not blogging... You are a lot like me and I love that :)

Hi Kasey...You crack me up! I got left of the side of the road once, but back in those days you could disipline your children without social sevices being called. My mom kept us in line!! I turned out alright, well in my opinion...some may argue!

LOVE your butterfiles, so beautiful! I better make sure I'm a follower while I'm here too!

INSTEAD....I'm going to BIG EFFING BEAR (you didn't hear? they changed the name of the town...) for my father in law's 60th bday.

I am pouting. And, I may have stomped my foot on the ground.

Rather than shopping at your FABULOUS home for FABULOUS treasures...I will be in some rented cabin in B.E.B (see above) with my in laws. At least I know there will be lots of liquor. I will need it. sigh....

Someday we'll talk about the story of you leaving the kids on the road.

As for changes? I can't wait!

I bet the better part of your followers have pulled over to the side of the road and you know the rest of the story....
yep I did that too!

did I miss something??? What are the butterflies for? Do you want to feel better? I got threatened to go to jail this week and with child abandonment, etc, etc by a mean cop who was mad I left my kids in the car while I got money out of a cash machine which was directly in front of the car. Anyways, I left with a hefty $250 fine...

I'm intrigued, in so many ways. don't feel bad about the "dropping off" thing. I threatend my kids the other day and Gracie started to cry buckets of sad tears, so that idea went out the door!

I LOVE butterflies. That was the "theme" Gracie requested for her birthday. It was so fun, and beautiful!

Now you've got me all intrigued; what's happening - do tell!!! Love your paper butterflies. I'm into butterflies at the moment too - just bought a beautiful cushion with a butterfly on it for my new house. Waiting to hear your news...x

As for the other thing, I am so glad that there are mothers who dare to admit that they are not perfect. I am so tired of the supermother image! I love your blog! You have just won a new follower with your post! xoxo, Monika

What a great way to start my day...with a giggle after reading your post. Would love to be at your open house this weekend, but that would mean another 7 hour drive to Chicago and I just did that and don't really want to again anytime soon - but it would be all by myself, hmmmmmmm....

Changes? You're not running off with some of that eye candy from the last post now are you? Sometimes the side of the road seems like a nice place to put children. Not that I'd actually put them there, but I might enjoy just thinking about putting them there.

I think the hot glue gun fumes or maybe the monotony of gluing a million tiny butterflies has gone to your head.
Big changes?
Hmmmmmm......... whatever they are, you can't quit blogging. Write a book...go part time at a newspaper...start up your own magazine, whatever,.....but keep your blog.

Please?

I need it.

Sign me up to be a follower. I LOVE reading your blog. Reading blogs and looking at all the gorgeous pictures has become an obsession of mine. Thanks for being one of my favorites!

who would stop being a follower?! thee audacity. anyhow, you crack me up and will continue reading your very entertaining entries :)

Sometimes Momma has to make sure you are listening...and my girls will tell you it didn't hurt them one little bit. Well behaved children are trained to be that way...and I know some people think it is curbing their spirit but spirit and manners can go together- politely. Without screaming and fighting in the car.

So I will still consider you for Mother of the Year.

Have a great sale!

I LOVE Butterflies!! They are so symbolic of life and changes, at least for me, and if you need a symbol for change in your life, then I recommend them most highly!

In 1994, I lost the love of my life/my husband at the age of 36 in a car accident (ironically on his way home from flying a small plane-where he'd cut the engine repeatedly and take photos. . .)

I share this because I built a cocoon around myself and those in my immediate life that I loved for protection.
But eventually, I learned that BECAUSE of this extreme and immediate loss how important it was to love and appreciate the little things, the people that bring us a bit of joy everyday, to "use the good china," not sweat the small stuff and to remember that each day and every ONE is precious.

That was my "butterfly" process. And, I hope that metamophisis has made me a better and more appreciative person. It's been years, obviously, but I always try and remember the gift that was given me. One "gift" taken away, unexplicably and yet perhaps a "gift" given to make me a more appreciative and reflective person.

Butterflies? They are the best!
Hugs,
Shell
