I am feeling inspired.....

I went to Palm Springs this last weekend, left Friday morning and returned just in time to catch the Oscars. I'm a movie fanatic. I love the red carpet. I love the drama.

*sigh*

Anyways, I was in Palm Springs to celebrate my Grandmothers 90th birthday. My whole family flew in, my parents , my brother and his wife, my cousins, aunts and uncles. It was wonderful. My Grandmother is a wonderful lady who is loved.

I took those photo's above of the flowers that are growing in her back yard, and I yearn for spring.

So, to celebrate the hopeful arrival of Spring and just because I'm feeling creative and inspired by where I'm heading, I have two $50 gift cards for your favorite restaurant. The best part is, you don't have to blog about it, you don't have to link about the giveaway {unless you want to, of course}, I just want to thank you for being a Lola B's reader.

How does that sound?

Two winners will be picked in a few days. The winners will be random and not what you comment about, but please do tell what inspires you......
xoxo

The easy answer, but very true, is I am inspired by my family. But, I also find myself inspired by nature, particularly flowers, old books, & music.

My sister is my best friend in the world...she lives in Palm Desert not far from Palm Springs (but I'm sure you know that!) I miss her sooooo much. We ONLY live about 3000 miles apart...so you can guess how often I see her. Not very. She is a constant source of inspiration to me. Thank heavens for telephones and blogs.

Welcome home dear! I am happy you had a wonderful and inspiring trip - send some this way please? I am in need! There is so much surrounding me that is inspirational - just litle things like music and weather and random beauty but sometime you hit a point where you are stuck - that is where I am at. It will pass.

Honestly, what's inspiring me this morning is watching a mother push her child in his wheel chair, trach tube in place into the neighborhood elementary school. Both mother and son smiling joyfully. Inspires me to feel a little more mindful of my many blessings.

How weird - I did a whole post but it didn't show up!

Well, I am inspired by so many things. I find life to be inspiring if you just open your heart to the wonder and excitement of it all, and look past the ordinary into the possibilities and the beauty. And my kids really have helped me to do that. But aside from that, I have such a long list {that I will save for 2 weeks from now} but here are 5 random things that inspire me:
- the Northern California coast
- old houses
- antique garden roses
- vintage lockets
- Paris

That is so amazing you got to spend such special time with your grandmother. Having a grandmother is such a blessing. I didn't realize that is why you were in Palm Springs! Thanks for being such a good friend and for your generosity! I never win anything but I loved this post so here I am... thanks again.

What a great celebration for your Grandmother, she is blessed to have all of you and to be able to live this life for so long! What inpires me, it changes all the time, but I think lately it is the idea of being content with where and who I am, it is the idea of being the best person I can be here on earth while I have the chance, it is being the best mother to my baby, even when I doubt what I am doing, the best friend, daughter, "wife" etc, finding the good in life inspires me!

I am inspired when I am alone and just look at all the beauty God has put in my path. The simple things like clouds and fog or raindrops on the window.

How awesome that you were able to celebrate your Grandma's 90th. I am looking forward to spending some time with my own Granny in California this May. She will be 94.

Let's see, things that inspire me...

Old books, bird's nests, the first flowers of spring, pretty fabric, an empty journal, a stranger's kindness and an inspirational blog post like this one. ;)

The other day I spied the first flower in my garden this season - a yellow crocus. I got such a thrill out of it!

So many different things and people inspire me. I think it really comes down to the person I want to be and being the best person I can. If it is my art...I always want to try new things. As a mother..I am constantly wanting to spend more time with them, be more paitent, slow down and REALLY notice them. As a wife...I want my husband to feel cherished and respected and deeply loved. Man life is hard....I am not always very good a juggling, but I hope everyone I love knows I am really trying:-)

What a cute contest!! Truthfully...since I was a little Rebecca...I have always been inspired by paper. I love thinking of different uses for it other than the obvious...These days...there is so much variety to choose from and my inspiration has now turned me into a paper hoarder (sounds much worse than actually is)...so...you will most likely find me perusing through the paper section of any craft store or scrapbook shop!...with a cart full of paper and a mind endless with inspiration and ideas.

I was actually in the desert too this weekend. La Quinta to be exact. I saw many of the same flowers blooming that you saw!! Some of those flower scapes just take my breath away:) Where we were there was a big fountain and all kinds of birds were just chirping and singing and bathing away in it. Just watching them made me feel so grateful and less pessimistic than I had felt in days. Maybe months! So I would have to say nature really inspires me.

Lately I've been inspired by all of my new blogging friends. I've just purchased my first home and can't wait to use all of the decorating tips I've seen. I'm loving all of the birds, eggs and nests!

Bless you for your genrerous offer.

You're so blessed to have a grandmother to share memories with.

What a beautiful blog you have. I've just come across it and purchased from your store. Hmmmm...what inspires me. Of course my family, dogs and music...but most of all my duaghter. She was adopted this past year and weighed 8lbs at four months of age. The short time she lived in her native country was a very traumatic time. Things we could not protect her from. Yet, she carries this weight from her past effortlessly. Her smile inspires me everyday. We are so blessed.
