The fair.....

This is our third summer here in Illinois.....and our best one to date. The weather has been fantastic....70's and mild 80's......not the normal here.
Normally....the humidity kills me......making my hair look like i stuck my finger in an electrical socket and my cute clothes sticky with sweat.
Not this summer......
I have actually really loved living in the Midwest the last 6 weeks......
{ask me again in another 6 weeks...o.k.?}
Anyways.....for the last few summers we have scrounged whatever money we could find in the sofa's and pockets and i even looked in the dryer vent .......yahoo.....found a five dollar bill sitting in there.....
and headed to the fair.
It's not an inexpensive event....let me tell you.......

I had a great shot of my family....but then i noticed the lady in the upper right hand corner........
i'm still trying to figure out how to edit people out......{i also didn't know it was legal to wear a tire around your waste}..........
i know....i'm not nice.......

The children had a blast.......and every year Lola has to ride the elephant. EVERY YEAR!
...and she loves it.....
and this year she talked Fin into hopping on for the ride........
it doesn't look like he loved it......but he sure had fun....

....he even found me.......
...and he whispered to me that i indeed need a pedicure.....

*WARNING*
...these are some pictures of some fair eye candy for you.......

I really only wanted to show you a few......because what i saw at the fair should NOT be allowed.
But we had a fabulous time.....we always do.....
and the corn dogs were out of this world!
xo

So glad you had a great time at the fair and the corn dogs rocked!!
Mr. R would be totally jealous you got corn dogs from the actual fair and not the ones out of the box...hehe

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
You need to start a fashion-don't file!
Our fun game here is playing "Spot the Valley Tourists". It's a lot like going to the fair except the litter the pretty ocean side towns.
Gosh I'm mean.

the fair always has the most amazing people watching. we always count mullets...and not the new euro-hipster-mullets, but the goin'-to-the-fair-mullet. It's shocking how many there are! good times, good times.

By the way, people are complaining like crazy about our beautiful weather! I couldn't be happier!

Loved this post- you always make me laugh.
Did you happen to notice that you can buy just about anything deep fried at the fair- snickers, twinkies, fruits, vegetables- I was totally amazed and disgusted!

OK. I am in love with you for REAL now. Because whenever we got to Disneyland, I like to make a picture montage of sorts. You know...the adults wearing mouse ears, pirate hats, spongebob shirts, eating churros...you get the picture.

We would have so much fun together
(at other peoples expense)

HA! Kasey you are so funny. I think we would be really good buddies if we lived close. Love the fair pics...seems kind of early though. Ours don't start for a while yet.

Lookin' forward to the corn dogs, buttered corn on a stick and the funnel cakes. My stomach just growled:)

How fun! You are a true blogger, I am not good at taking pictures of strangers or even my kids when we are out and about usually! Thanks for sharing! Glad you had fun! How cute that you caught the elephant toe tickling! :)

County fairs are great for people watching!!! You always run into the same weirdos in Wal-Mart at 1am, just so you know. lol. Love your sense of humor!!

Oh my heart...the hair is to dye for :)(like my pun). So glad you had such a good time. We have our fair coming next weekend so it will be my turn for the people watching...won't forget the camera this time.
So good to see you this past weekend. Everything was wonderful... I will let you know soon about the "rabbit cage".

Looks like a great time was had at the fair! Don't you wish you could make the crowd disappear for a moment so others won't "ruin" a perfectly lovely family photo? Guess that's why Photoshop was invented:)

Your photos are so classic and lovely and fun.

Yes, fair is quite the place for people watching... Sometimes it's hard not to stare!

you are such the better mom than i to brave the fair. there are 2 that i can access and in my 6 years of being a mom - i haven't done either.

although your eye candy does remind me of why i steer clear....
