sincerely.......

I found this batch of love letters this last saturday...at the flea market.

uhhhh...nope...they are not French.

not even from England...or Europe for that matter.

they are from good ole Iowa.......i love Iowa....my mom is from there....

I love how they are addressed....

that lucile was a special lady.....

sounds like Homer was quite the man himself.

I sometimes sit back and think of one's names back then......like for instance....Homer.

Funny thing is......Bryan's grandfather was a homer......good thing bryan's mom nixed that idea...

because even in our most personal moments alone.....

i don't want to be screaming out the name ....HOMER too loud.....ya know.

sounds like a home run.......

my kids are still in school...so i can write this you know.

What is with names i ask?

My OB's name with my oldest was named Dr. Hoff.

not a bad name.....but his brother was named....Jack....

I swear it's the truth.

am i losing you? .....sorry...........i was really doing well posting some "inspiring posts" for you....and then somehow i got sidetracked with these love letters.
allright....back to story.....
Lucile and Homer had a few kids......named...
Grace {beautiful}
Franklin
Hubert {no comment}
Harold {still no comment}
Margaret {beautiful}
Durango {i actually think there is a town in colorado named after this one..}

sheeesh.

o.k. girlies.....can you believe i only have 9 more to go!

what????

can you guess ???

9 more to go. ......oh....9 more to go till i reach a huge goal.....what can it be.......

xo

oh....here are the starbucks card winners:

*Martha

*Kacey

*Mandiegirl

Again...exactly why I adore you! You just have a way with writting that I love! Making me laugh out loud. My husband is from Iowa and one of my boys. Where in Iowa? We lived in Ames while Mr. Wonderful attended ISU...loved it! Beautiful post and still thinking of your mom...hope she is doing better. Oh...stop by and see the artwork I have up for grabs...I see the shoes and can't help but think you would love them. :)

Hugs to you friend,

My grandfather's name was Homer. It could have been a respectable name...except for that horrid t.v. show...you know what I'm talking about. Anyway - hmmmm, 9 more...posts? 9 more days till your open house? You're crafting something....9 more till your finished with your craft. I have NO idea!

p.s. I just caught up with you and am sorry to hear about your mom...I hope she's doing MUCH better!

Farmgirl Paints said...

Yeah that makes more sense.

I'm not sure...you are too skinny to lose nine pounds. So maybe it's a post goal...400? Now I'm dying to know:)

What a great find. I think it'd be so fun to find some old love letters. Yeah I'd say the boys got the short end of the stick with the names. Poor guys!

I'd say you have 9 loads of laundry left!!!!

I have a ton of letters that my grandparents wrote to each other...my grandma has made me promise not to read them until she's no longer around...so I hope I can't read them for a long time. They had/have good names, though - Jack and Elizabeth (Eliza).

Okay, so does the 9 have anything to do with today's date 9-9-09? Something huge happening at 9:00 today? I'm interested to find out!

Okay, the Homer comment, too darn funny! I love old letters and postcards. I getting the little peak into someone else's life. Okay, as for the 9. Do you have 9 more kids to have. Ha ha, just kidding! Umm, I was going to say 9 more posts but several have said that already. 9 more days before something happens? No idea really. Take care.

Shoot! I got excited for a minute, then I realized that you probably would have said the flying bee and not my name!

My great grandfather was a Homer and they had 15 kids so I'm just sayin'...

Okay, so yelling Homer like a home run is funny! But the poor Dr. Hoff. All I picture is that Picture of David Hasselhoff in his red underwear with the words, "merry christmas from the Hoff"

Maybe your relatives would like to use that one?

I hope she's made a full recovery!

How fun! I missed the flea market this weekend. I was too busy being a party girl, bouncing around from fest to fest. Dancing, drinking, being all out obnoxious. LOL
Never scream Homer. Unless your name is Marge. LOL
