What i do have are a few here and there and most certainly...i do have some family ones upstairs. I have a wall in our sitting room off the bedroom with my family photo's and some in the upstairs hall.
I've always felt uncomfortable having them on a wall in our living room .....maybe because i see my family ALL day long...that the last thing i want to look at is the photo's.
I love just having one single framed picture that states something......and sitting alone....with a little bottle or possibly a small sentiment next to it. The one of lola above....of all things is her preschool picture. I loved how the photographer grabbed her in a way that is so lola......and from an angle....not the typical preschool smile and say cheese photo.
yup......i might be guilty of not having the 15x20 super sized photo or a mantel in which my wedding photo sits on......
but for me.....i want stages of our lives....and it changes yearly......
I use all similar color frames in all different sizes and shapes and then incorporated a few different elements...
such as the framed butterflies and the letter "B".
I didn't realize it at first.....but the butterflies represent my 3 children.......
and butterflies start off as caterpillars.....which must be nurtured and cocooned....then they develop their wings....
and one day will fly off on their own....even the {secret} favorite child....
i was just kidding.....really.....just kidding.....
*deep sigh*
{don't think i'm getting all mental here......or emotional....because i am fully aware that these children will one day grow up and move out.....
14 years to be exact....
and trust me....i am FULLY enjoying every single day....
well......
maybe not FULLY enjoying EVERY single day.......
but i do know they will grow and leave the cocoon one day..}
o.k.....i did tell Fin he could stay forever.....and have his rock band in the garage while playing video games on our sofa with all of his friends......
but then he told me ..........
no mom.......because i'll be at my job........driving the garbage truck.........
hmmm.

Like it or not, time keeps on ticking. I find it is best to just cherish the moments:) Love this post!
Love this post.
What a great photo of you... was that your wedding day? SOOO SWEET!
Love the post! I'm not a huge picture person either - we have some - I like B/W pics the best and have ones of the kids randomly around the house. I love looking the sweet baby ones since they're getting so grown up so fast, but every age has it's cool things (and not so cool), but you're right, enjoy all of it - it goes by really fast!
Sweet!

ps The sword swallowing birdie in the last photo is quite impressive...a sword swallowing swallow???
OK ~ these pictures are so nice ~ maybe that's why you chose to frame them.... see, I am a fast learner, or is it a quick learner?? The one of Lola I could not believe was a school shot ~ it sure is not the cookie cutter ones we have here. I also love the last shot... Beautiful post....
Oh I love this post! I love it that you don't go overboard with images of family everywhere. I say this well knowing that I live in a home that does not have one picture of family hung on a wall, oh my. What I love most about this post is that Fin will not be able to stay and play in a band in your "garage" because he will be tending to the "garbage". Think about it he just added a letter "b" to what you gave him option to, smile! You are so real and I love that about you and funny too...did I say funny. Every time I come here I smile big! Happy day to you kasey!
Oh Fin...so cute and sweet!! Nate used to say that he was going to build a house that was connected to mine but alas, hes now is love with another woman...sigh.
Its true that they do grow wings and leave the cocoon but I can now look forward to new little catepillars to play with that go home at night to their own cocoons! :)
Girl...you so funny! School starts Wednesday of next week...Awww bitersweet~
Your wedding photo is gorgeous and I love the frame with it.
Haha! What a cutie Fin is. That wedding pic of you is really pretty!
just wondering if I could move in to your home?
I love the idea of minimalism in photo's.
B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L photo's and story.

I love that sitting room idea!!
Sweet photos. I don't have the big ones either! Well, except for one 8x10 of the whole family, I just remembered...does that count as big?
Thanks for stopping by my blog for the blogging for bliss party! Happy Belated Blog Party! Your blog is lovely.
Loving your frames! :)
I love Lola's preschool photo!! It is so whimsy filled with giggles.
They grow up too fast & even before they physically leave comes a day when they're 6 & ask you to not come in to the playdate. I cried all the way home.
Finn still is my blogger best boy awardee. He'll be great a whatever he does...
Thanks so much for visiting me today! I have added your name to my give away...
hope you are having a happy day.
xoxo Lidy

Beautiful photos Kasey...and you look gorgeous too...very neat photo you shared!!! I love how you do minimalize; however, I myself (and hubby too) love family photos up...we just can't help ourselves...but they are neat ones...with a great photographer...but I know your home is gorgeous however you have it!
Love that picture of Lola! And I didn't even recognize you in the first picture, with your hair up - so lovely!
:) T
Great photos, lovely post! I got a chuckle out of the garbage man part, but i have to say at least he is on track for wanting a job! XO
my children are 17 and 21 *insert silent snivelling and sobbing here* and i find that the images that are dearest to my heart are those imperfect moments captured with my old camera...like, my 21 yr old, then 2yr old, son sitting perched in my mother's garden fountain, each time i look at it i remember EXACTLY the texture of his baby skin, the smell of his hair and the light in his eyes when he saw me laughing.
I love your display and the frames you've chosen are so gorgeous!
driving the garbage truck...hahahhaha. love it. you guys are great.
I love the wall! I think I know the perfect place to copy that idea. I think Fin would make a great garbage truck man!!!
so sweet! love the wall and your butterfly story,
xoxo,
LuLu
