a room with a view...

I am a girl that you might end up hating at the end of this post.

I hope not though.

It's not my fault that this is the room that sold me my home...and if you've been reading this blog for a while...then you know that i posted on it once before.

I'm happy to tell you that this room is finally complete........well.......nothing of mine is ever complete...

so for now....it's complete....but in another year...it might change.

You are about to enter my favorite room of the house.....

my boudoir....{i hope that doesn't mean something like 'bottom' in french....because that for sure would not be very funny....nope...not at all.....}

While i was sick on my deathbed on Saturday....i sent my ...oh..so....willing husband to Ikea....{and don't "oh poor bryan" to me......he couldn't wait to get out of the house by himself...} to pick up this dresser. It's part of the Hemnes collection, and normally...i love a good solid vintage piece...but girls.....the door to my closet is teeny tiny.....so i had to have something that bryan could put together once inside the closet. It's a perfect fit.

....and yes.....what you see are more hatboxes......please don't scold me.

....and i found those fabulous vintage kitten heels at a flea market....unfortunatley...they are 22 sizes to small....

they actually fit Lola pretty well....

seriously....were all women like a shoe size 5 back then???

The walls are wood...and i painted them cottage white.....but some of the walls are lined with linen now...even the ceiling. The room is an A frame and we think it probably used to be a nursery or a tandem third bedroom.

I just want you to stop right here and let me explain the shoes.

They are not all mine.

I actually borrowed most of them from my friends just so i could fill up the shelves and the picture

would look o.k.

really.

kinda.

well......maybe most of them are mine and 4 pairs belong to bryan. .......but the reason it looks like i have so many is because i've never thrown a pair away.....

really.

kinda.

o.k....so i have a shoe problem.

I know for a fact that i am not the only girl here going to therapy right now....

okay.

i'm dealing with the problem.

seriously.....

remember the doctor took away my credit card.

I even love the scratched up painted wood floors.......though....painting them white.....is on my to do list.
so........
I just wanted to let you know...i did survive that horrific cold.....and it feels like fall here...already....eeek.
I don't know about you...but ..... I.love.layers!
and boots.....especially knee high boots......knee high riding boots.....knee high riding boots in plum....
Dang that Doctor....

You're right. I hate you.

I'm not sure if I can ever love you until I can have a closet just. like. yours.

This is the kind of closet (including all the clothes) I thought only existed in dreams.

It looks smashing my dear...but of course!!!

You are on lucky girl Kasey! My problem is with purses and bags, not so much with shoes. Remember, if you want to make some cash on some of the clothes, shoes and accesories, just send them to me and i will sell them for you!! :)

Fabulous! My closet is teeny tiny and bursting at the seams. Oh, and I wear a size 5 shoe, so you should probably just go ahead and send me those mules...

LOVE this room! I could look at this all day! You and I have the same bag. The one from Anthro, with the yellow dot thingy's on it, and the green sash that ties. It's one of my favorites! But, mine is sitting in a basket on the floor in my bedroom, instead of up on the wall where it should be! LOL!

You're fine. Had you said, "Mon derriere..." I would have been a little worried.

: )

Julie M.

ps Love your wardrobe room! I have the same floor...and tiny door in mine...but if I bought that cute dresser...and built it in my closet...I wouldn't be able to open any of the drawers...actually...I wouldn't be able to put them IN the dresser in the first place!

I say you need more shoes! Go accost that doctor and get your card back! :)
Love the closet, girlie!

Oh, I love your closet. Do you just go in there and hang out? I would. There is nothing I like about my closet and you are making me want to change that. Badly. Do you find yourself wanting to buy new things just so you can go hang them up in your pretty closet? Can I come hang out in your closet for awhile or would that be too weird?

Cabin 19 Supply Company said...

Stunning! A dream!! Especially when I look at my shoe inventory... measly 4 pairs that don't have paint splatters on them! Lol, I'll scratch that one up to the cost of doing "business". Heading down for the CL Fair at all?

That is one awesome closet!!! I could sit in there all day!! It looks more like a loft than a closet:) Hey you need more purses;)

Sarah said...

The room looks fabulous Kasey! I love it! Those heels are precious! The new dresser fits in perfectly! Such a great hubby to get it for you and put it together! I too have a shoe problem and my boys have tried to pinpoint me for that, but I also show them shoes I have had for 15 years, they can't show me shoes they have had that long and taken care of so the conversation usually turns...
I can't wait for fall either this year! It motivates me! :) Have a great day!

My closet has bi-fold doors and is painted a garish shade of purple on the interior. It has one rod and one shelf. 75% of my wardrobe is stacked (piled) on the shelf. My shoes are piled on the floor, under a protective blanket of dust bunnies. Oh, and my clothes shack up with my husband's. So yeah, I hate you. Just a pinch. And I'll probably forget by tomorrow, so no biggie.

What a luxury to have a dressing room...I don't see many of Bryans ( sorry, is it o.k.to call him by his first name ? !!) clothes and shoes in there. Has he got his own dressing room !!!!!!!!He he.
The trouble is, there is just loads more room to fit MORE shoes and clothes and accessories in....oh dear.....what a problem for you !!!!
Oh, and I'm with Tattered Goods, I don't think that you should paint the floorboards, either...I love that look....although, you have such great taste, you'll know what will look the best.
Hope that you are feeling better re CPS 'person'.I always think that, when you've had something like that happen, it never seems quite so bad after a few days.
Anyway, love the dressing room and the post XXXX

Kasey,

Paige and I have already discussed it and Santa told me personally that it just wouldn't be right to feed into your shoe problem and that since Jeanne already bought her pair, that the two pair he has will go to Paige and I. :)

Hi it's me again, the plum gal. I use to have a closet like this in my old house in the Valley. I love yours, love the dresser in there, the mirror, the bench, the window. I took a small bedroom next to the master and made into my closet, then took the walk in closet and added it to the bathroom.

I also love your boarder. I love music.

See I should have gotten that gift card.
