i will follow....

I don't normally post on the weekends. I actually don't really even get on the computer....but i do have an iphone..so it does get checked....but unless it's something important....i put it aside till monday morning.
weekends are family time.
always have been .....

but this weekend was different.....is different.

I recieved a call from my dad on friday saying he was taking my mother to the hospital......

my mom had been sick for over a week ......in fact we all thought she had the flu......

but in the last few days...she could hardly move.....and on Friday when my dad said

she was not coherent and not able to form a complete sentence...he took her to the hospital.

my mom is my best friend.....we are so eerily similar....

we have the same voice....so when she is at my home...people get us confused on the phone.

my mom is my best friend and i don't know what i would do with out her.

she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia...but at a stage where different parts of her body were starting to shut down because she thought she had the flu and was in bed at home.

She is going to be fine.

She is sick...but going to be fine.

I sit here writing......knowing of good friends that are not close with their mothers.....and maybe my situation is different.....because my mom is my best friend.

It wasn't till after high school that we even forged a relationship that was beautiful.

I was a different person in high school.

I know we all were.....but my situation was different. I almost didn't graduate.....and my parents made a decision to send me to live with my aunt and uncle.

{that is a whole different post....}

Anyways......my mom is my best friend and she is sick but going to be o.k.

I've had friends that have lost their mothers.......and friends that don't even really know their mothers......so i consider myself lucky......i have a beautiful relationship.

when i left Colorado.....over 2 years ago........i had a little going away party at my house...just the girls....about 20 of them......friends and neighbors.....and my mom.

well.....there was a book that was passed around called "oh...the places you'll go.." by Dr. Suess.

....Polaroid pictures were taken of the evening with me and the girls....with each of the girls writing a bit ...and on the page was a picture of myself and my mom.....and she wrote....

'where you go...i will follow'.

becuase that is my mom......

It's not easy, especially when you are not close by. I'm in a similar situation with my mom. No matter how old we are, if were married or have children of our own, they are still our mom and dad. I'm so sorry your mom is so sick. I hope her recovery is quick. xoxoxo, Jamie

Kasey,
I am so glad your mom is okay. I know how you feel. My mom is my best friend too. We found out 4 weeks ago that she has stage 4 cancer, and her diagnosis is not good. It has broken my heart.
Just like you, I am sooo much like my mom. I cannot imagine life without her.
Go hug your mom if you can. Soak her up. Life is so short, and Moms are irreplaceable!
Praising God that your mom is doing well!
Blessings to your whole family,

Wow. What a post. Beautiful.

Sooooo happy to hear that she apparently just needs a bit of TLC and time to recover.

As with many of the comments, I've experience the gamut with my mom and as we speak, she is a Hospice patient with not much longer here with us.

Perhaps a little trip will be in your future, to go see that beautiful lady in the Poloroid. :)

Thanks for sharing -- just beautiful.

(He would have LOVED seeing all of the food and design blogs...back then..pretty much all that was available was PBS with Yan Can Cook, Victory Garden, and This Old House) Those of us who are able to know are parents as dear friends are truly blessed!

I lost my mom last year in August. She suffered for so many year but never said a word. The last year of her life was the worst but I accompanied her to her appointments, called her on a daily bases and had her over for 3 days and taking care of her. I miss her alot. I wish I could hear her voice again, her laugh, see her smile, how she enjoyed life to the fullest. I hope your mother recoveres and be with you! My mother was my confident, I have no confident anymore. Cherrish every moment with her.

We took her in and they admitted her with severe pneumonia. She spent 5 days in the hospital. :(

My prayers go out for your mom to be back to 100% soon!
