Confessions of a simple girl....
Oh.....hello there.
It's me kasey. You really can't see my face because i'm a wee bit sleep deprived.
I believe my kid ate too many germs ......he actually over indulged....
because i am home again this week....
with another pox infected child.
Which pretty much means....
no school all week
no play dates all week
no gym all week
errr...
i guess i can still go to the gym if i wanted to cart by big butt out of bed
at 5 in the morning....
which i've been known to do....
So...when fin came waddling into my room at two oclock in the morning...
i just knew something wasn't right....
especially when he said...
'mommy....i'm really itchy'....
grrrr......is what the sleepy mommy said...
then the light bulb when off in my head....
let's see....the doctor said ...between 2 and 3 weeks incubation.....
ta-da
and here we are.
Anyways...i don't have much to say other than we had a new kitchen faucet put in
this last weekend....
and i had no idea how expensive those things are.....
and of course i had to have a pretty one...
and when i called the plumber to come install it...
he pulled up in a
BMW.
Seriously.....the man that walked out of that car was not a
plumber.....
he couldn't be.....
and he had on designer jeans.....
tight...designer jeans.
I introduced myself.....
blah...blah...blah..
trying not to stare at his behind......
as he bent over under the sink......
whew...
i had to remember that Bryan was in the room too...
and he looked at me salivating all over the floor....
and rolled his eyes at me.
This my friends...is the story of a woman who doesn't get out much..
because of pox infected children.

You, my dear, are wicked;) And hilarious! Only you could spin such a tale about chicken pox and the hot plumber:) Wishing you well {that's code for hope you "keep your sanity"} this week!
Beware of plumbers in designer jeans driving BMWs. Never a good thing.
Sorry about little Fin. Hope he gets well quickly. Hope his mommy doesn't go insane. ;-)
Not fair, every plumber I've had here as been a sight to behold, but not in a good way.
Faucets are so expensive, I want a new one, but I'm not sure my husband sees the necessity of form and function!
ten days - please have them all shiny and ship-shape in ten days...
:)
Well let's look on the bright side of this: having the kids get the pox all in the same time period is good, it will be done and over AND you got to look at the behind of a not so typical plumber....they don't make plumbers like that here...haha....I wish you a insanity free day! xxoo
Hysterical (the part about the plumber)! Hope your son doesn't suffer too much with those nasty pox.
Didn't your mother warn you about strangers in BMWs that claim to be plumbers? You, my friend, just bought that cutie a new pair of jeans. I'm jealous. My plumber is a tiny bald guy with half his teeth missing. But, he sure knows his way around a kitchen sink! ;o) ~mary~
Aww, hope your little man is feeling better soon!
Oh you are naughty!! ;0) I have to admit I would have been too...sigh...not such thing as a BMW in these neck of the woods and as for the hot plumber in designer jeans...only on your blog girl...only on your blog...sigh...
My three were kind enough to get the pox all at one time and our country doc was kind enough to share a little secret....my boys were itching so bad I thought they would scratch their skin off. Doc told me to run a warm bath and put oatmeal in the bath with them, the itching stopped immediately. Hope Fin feels better soon. Can I have the hot plumbers number?? LOL
Toni
Any plumber I've ever had has been over 70 and wearing baggy, paint stained dungerees. Oh well, c'est la vie.
I'm afraid that these childhood illnesses are all part of being a mum. Hope Liam doesn't suffer with it too much. XXXX
Poor Fin (and Mama, too!). Love that skirt!!! :) Hope your week goes by quickly!
Oh No!! I feel for you. Just think happy thoughts!!
Obviously your plumber makes way too much money to be driving around in a BMW with designer jeans, haha! You're so hilarious!
a hot plumber too?
oh for crying out loud.
of course you have a hot plumber
good thing your mail man is not a hottie
you 'got me' on that one...smirk.
so sorry about my sweet scratchy fin
good thing his mama loves to bake for him while he's in need of medical attention. pumpkin bread, maybe? or are you onto christmas thumbprint cookies now?
sorry i've been mia
hope to talk to you soon sweetie
mwah!!!
Oh no! sorry i can't help laughing but i have the image of your hot plumber in my mind... and have to ask you are you sure he was hot or is it your sleep deprived eyes telling you the plumbers hot!! it's a good thing Bryan was home!!hee hee
xo,
LuLu
oatmeal baths........and a cup of hot cocoa for them with those marshmallows you so cutely put into the jar - you know; to coax them into the oatmeal tub.....works everytime.
aaaahaha - Plumbers in designer jeans and BMW's - is there any other way to install a beautiful faucet? ;)
so sorry for your sentence of one-week HARD time house arrest. Seems to be a bit harsh... :(
thinking of you my friend.......xoxoxo
LOLOLOL! btw...we have like a 45 minute rule in our home. I'm thinking about upping it to 45 days. Cause really, is my counter and plates really any cleaner than my floor? Probably not.
OK, well it sounds to me like you still have your sense of humor..so thats good! He has the chicken pox? Once I had 5 of my kids down with that all at once! Hope he gets well fast! A BMW huh...wowza! Come say hi :D
Lock down is no fun!!Lets hope the time will go fast .Maybe someone can come and get you for some good behavior?? That depends on the source.Don't ask the kids. But then again its always how much the bride is worth to them. There seem to be always a pay-off with kids.Oh.. the torture.Hang in there! Don't forget to take Fins pic. Chickie
You never cease to amaze me my dear with your writing...I am dying...and all over again with LuLu's comment...because she could be right...maybe you were just tired {wink, wink}...but then of course you definitely got me with plumber too...get little Fin back to health too...poor little guy...I'll just pray that it won't hit again ya know for you...because then that would definitely be another week {wink, wink} See you soon!
hot plumber? times have changed. lol
oh no! well at least you got some eye candy. Hope he's better quick. It's hard when your routine gets derailed...
Oh no - more pox -- hope your little guy is feeling better soon!
Sounds like a very good plumber since her's driving a BMW!
Janet
You are so funny Kasey! I'm so sorry about Fin. I hope everything else is going well for you.
OK...this is definitely not the 'plumbers butt' we are all accustomed to!! Too funny! You crack me up!
My kids went through that at Christmas (on Christmas day!) 2 years ago!!! in fact, maybe I'll email you a pic of my little one w/ all her pox! (if I can find it in the old hard drive)
The Dr. asked me if he could take her picture cuz he had never seen a case as bad as hers! not fun!
We did lots of oatmeal baths. Good luck! Play with your new faucet...:-)
Shellagh
I have a leaky faucet, can you send Mr. Designer jeans over to take a look! ha!
Great post!
A plumber in a BMW? Seriously? Clearly my husband is in the wrong profession.
Hope Fin is all better soon. (And I hope you come out of it, sanity intact)
First of all, love the pic. :) Secondly, guess my hubs needs to go back to school and become a plumber.
And thirdly, I hope your Fin feels better soon and that YOU get some much needed rest! ;)
Smiles,
Rachel
If you're trapped then is it safe to assume that you are not getting a daily dose of Starbuck's? : )
Hi there! Just clicked over from farm girl paints. I had fun reading your latest. I can totally relate to the 2AM wakings - my youngest (1yr) has been struggling with some sort of tummy trouble that had me up changing his diapers several times during the night...hope everyone is well at your house SOON so you can get out! :D
hope your little guy gets better soon...
hope you can get out for a bit, too
xo,
Adrienne
Hi cutie. Yeah, we had to get a new facet a few months ago and I was really surprised how much it cost. Sorry you've got another sick kid. I got up at 5 and went to the gym and it pretty much sucked so don't feel like you are missing anything ;)
Sorry to hear you now have had two with the pox. I vaccinated Dakota, not Kaiden for the pox, because of the lack of guarantee, I am almost considering having you rub his skin with a piece of paper and mailing it to me. Seriously, we are looking for the pox! ;)
Hopefully you can get a nice amount of movies rented and decorate like crazy when you don't have a pink dipped kid to tend to! :) Oatmeal baths are supposed to help nicely! Good luck!
I'm so gauche...and it's not that I don't empathize with your housebound week, but if you see fit to share...where did you find that adorable skirt? Now, I'm salivating...linen does that to me.
Many blessings.
Normally you look away when the plumber bends down...
Hope everyone feels better soon! Maybe you should call the plumber out again tomorrow. :)
Shall we go out for drinks on Thur? So you can get away from all of the germs and stuff???
Poor little Fin!
:) T
I'm laughing about your designer jean plumber and feeling bad that you have another kid sick with the chicken pox! So sorry friend, I hope it all will go away soon! Faucets are very expensive...I have had to purchase a few of them as of late with our remodel...I always seem to be drawn to the "pretty" pricey ones, that is what happens to us girls with good taste. lol. Praying your week gets better!
Hugs and love,
~Victoria~
The chicken pox!!! That's a bummer! But a new kitchen faucet, now your talking my lingo:) So let's see it. I have been thinking about that one you can just touch with your wrist and it turns on. I bet that one is a pretty penny:)
Hilarious post!!! If it'll cheer you or any of your readers, there's a giveaway going on right now that ends this Saturday.
Hurry if you want to catch it!
http://58cherries.blogspot.com/
Now that sounds like a plumber that you wouldn't mind seeing crack!!!! lol
Love that photo, Kasey! p.s. hope you're enjoying that new tap.
:) There's an award for you on my blog if you care to take it! (And only if you need a time waster. Seriously. It took me almost an hour!)
You are the cutest thing, and so talented. What kind of camera do you use...I am on the hunt for a new one, mine sucks.
Plumbers in designer jeans? Makes you wonder what prompted that career choice huh?
Oh cute and sweet little Fin I do hope your "itchies" go away soon! I have often thought about "pimpin" my sweet Hubs out all in the name of plumbing...cause he works really hard now and sure isn't driving a BMW!!! Ha ha...hope you un-homebound soon!
simply... a great post. full of honesty, amusement and charm.... hope all gets back to normal soon... x pam
Hummm...if your plumber is pulling up in a BMW and wearing designer jeans...you might be getting ripped off.
Well..then there is that extra charge of admission to his show :)
Too funny..
Janet
