A simple life...

Yes.

Yes...we bowl.

It's a yearly tradition......

after we stuff ourselves...we don't walk around the block...we actually ..head to the bowling alley....

bumper bowling if you will....because ...

well...

how can you go wrong with a little bumper ball?

This was the first year since Mason was born that we were alone for thanksgiving....and i
vowed to make something other than mac n cheese.
I'm still a wee bit impressed with myself....and not that i didn't think
i could do it...
but it turned out really good.
and i did it all myself....but kinda hard to go wrong when you are just cooking for a family of five.
Sorry...there are not pictures of the table set....there are no pictures of us eating....
nope...
none of the food...
no mashed potatoes....no herb and cranberry stuffing...
nope...
none of the children eating all of the pumpkin pie in one sitting...
none of that
just one picture..
of shoes.
colorful...coordinated...and tied perfectly...
happy shoes.

What a fun way to spend the day! And bowling once a year is worth it just for the shoe shot alone.

right when we sat down at our table, before we started eating, my hubby asked if I wanted to take a picture..

I said NO, and started to dig it

love the shoes...way better than another pic of a bowl of potatoes

Oh it sounds like a fun time! I haven't been bowling in soooo long; but I'm really bad at it... I doubt that a bumper would help my game! We were a small group at the table this year, too. Few or many, family togetherness is what it's all about:) Love that photo!

What a fun tradition! We love to go bowling. It sound's like your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have to say our Thanksgiving was unique and a first...because of our remodeling, I did not cook a thing...we went out! That is a first and hopefully the last for us. lol. We did see a great movie after, Planet 51...very cute and funny. I overall am just thankful for my life with a great family! Hugs and love friend!

My neighbors are from Indy and their first Thanksgiving here alone, we invited them to dinner with us. They RSVP stating "only if we bowl with them after dinner" So we did and what a fun tradition!!

So if there are no pictures of the food or enjoying said food how can we be sure you made dinner at all? I am just kidding. Very cool.
I actually sat down to the big dinner and did not want it. My husband thought I was crazy, even asked, "what is wrong with you?" Nothing, just did not want it.
Had a great time with family anyway. I love your tradition, may have to try it too.
Lots of love in this season,
Zizette

This is the perfect tradition! I think I may adopt it.

Where have you been? Equally, where have I been?

It's a pleasure to "meet" you, Kasey!

What a grand idea! I really suck at bowling, so it lacks the fun factor for me. Don't cha just love the shoes:)

That picture made me smile. I love that you have that picture to remember your Thanksgiving as a family. So precious.

Seriously, you can't go wrong with bowling? How can you not have fun especially if it is bumper bowling and you never have to get a gutter ball?

Nothing happier than bowling shoes... nope, nothing.

I think that is a hilarious and fun tradition!!! Much better than sitting around after the meal and letting the triptafan (sp?) take over your body.

It is soooo good to have your family traditions. This is something your kids will always think of at Thanksgiving time and when the talk about Thanksgiving in their family.
