Farmhouse dreaming...

Let me just start off by saying one thing.....

i dream of farmhouse living....

but don't get the wrong idea.....i am in love with my house now...

i love my house...

i love it to pieces....

but a girl can dream....that i know.

I am always perusing homes that are on the market..

i peek in the windows...

i spy from down the street....

i've probably even been labeled as a.....

girl.to.watch.

from some of the neighborhood watch teams...

but i'm ok with that.

really.

So....

i found this place...

this farm.....on 7 acres....

with a dairy barn...

did you know i dream of dairy barns.....

well i do....

i've been know to talk in my sleep...

and say ...

dairy barn

out loud....

yes...it's true

It's a good thing my realtor is a good friend....

she fields my calls....

and puts me in my place by saying..

kasey...i could totally see a

lola b's sale happening in the

dairy barn

now...that's a friend

I forgot to mention that i also dream of chickens...

wierd i know...

and i'm not talking about chicken sandwiches

from chick fil e.....

uggh

because if anyone knows me...i really do love that place...

and we don't have them here...

but i do dream of chickens...

or hens...

that lay eggs.

could you totally see me having chickens...

in this chicken coop on the back of the farm...

the farm with the dairy barn....

i could even set a sign out front that says...

eggs for sale.

I might not be wearing this killer dress from anthro when i'm selling eggs.....

i might have some jeans with an apron...

i might even have a bit of cookie dough molted on that apron...

from baking cookies from scratch for the children ...

in the farm kitchen.....

while the kids play in the

dairy barn.

Dare I ask how much they are asking...? It is absolutely stunning.
I really do think that it would be a very appropriate belated birthday gift from one's husband.
Just sayin'...

Oh we dream similar dreams:) I love, love farmhouses and old barns! But, my husband says a firm "No" to the chickens...oh well, a girl can dream;)

I dream about houses all the time. I dream of owning a driveway where I can park feet away from my front door. Versus parking in a lot somewhere in my apartment complex. I dream about not sharing walls with strangers.

Love that farm house

I love the pics of the stone steps!!

You sound like me, back when I first started looking at this house we're in now...

Kasey, if you are supposed to dwell in that home, I pray that for.

If not, I pray that your heart will know. ;)

That place looks downright DREAMY! It's a Tracy Porter kind of dream, that is. Having the lovely home and barn and chicken house, with the fresh Aurancana chickens, with their pale pastel eggs, warm and fresh as can be. To have a studio in the barn and rule the world in between warm oatmeal cookies, baked from scratch in the vintage stove in the farm kitchen. Yep, I know that dream!

DO IT!! BUY IT TODAY and I wouldn't even tell your husband!

Gorgeous...love the unique windows on that barn! And this I gotta see...Kasey in a pair of killer Anthro boots wading through chicken poop to collect eggs each morning. Love it! ;o) ~mary~

Ok...I just purchased that killer dress today...nice to see how it looks on you...worried I might need a sweater with it now.
Your costing me money as I write...
Where is that farm? It is in such great shape.
We have an old dairy barn on our subdivision property and I would just love to get my hands on rehabing it one day.

Lola B's in that dairy barn - i'm salivating at the thought....can only imagine how your wheels are spinning! I would even step in chicken poop to get there.

Fabulous.

Oh, and owning that home would mean you'd need a farm boy. And no, sick-o. Not like the one's you've got. More like Princess Bride's farm boy.

You're welcome.

Oh my. I have those kind of dreams too! I hate my dirty dog, but I'd love to have chickens...preferably a good 100 meters from my house. That is one amazing farmhouse. Excuse me while I go have a quiet dream about me living there...

I have a chick-fil-a down the street from me and I would gladly give it up for that farm house, it is AMAZING!! You should totally buy it, you can write it off as a business expense if you have sales there, right? Good Luck, you look fantastic there too, by the way, you all ready look like you own the place.

Oh WOW...that place looks fantastic ....and you could do so much with it.
I'm a little worried though, Kasey. I think that you might, just might, be living in a bit of a dream world !! Chickens, aprons and cookie baking are not your strong point are they ????!!!!! haha..... but there are lots of cookery courses and I'm sure there's one on hen keeping, so all is not lost !! XXXX

Good Luck! But as a girl that has lived on a small farm her whole life it is not all glam...chickens are dirty little things...horses, are lots and I mean lots of work! Cows need help with thier births, yes, I have had my whole hand in a cows ass...and barns need to be cleaned and one can't wear cute boots either.

I have always had the dream of converting barn into a home - with post and beam! I love the open concept of a huge barn- lots of room for kids to run around! We have some great places like that back here is new england - I am trying to get Lola B's closer! If you decide to bake today I can send you my recipe for choc. chip cookies. It is easy and they taste great.

It is totally fab. That barn is perfect for your sales!! Our neighbor has 3 and they get out often and come to our yard for a visit. Oliver and I just love them so much :) Get it!

Tricia said...

Wow Kasey- that would be too cool! Gorgeous pics and your 'killer' dress from anthro is great. Where did you find your textured leggings? Love those too. :-)

Wendy said...

is this the farmhouse you offered to have me move into? it's really lovely...although not as lovely as the girl in the killer anthro dress giving us the tour!

have a great day!!

Again.

Sigh. Stupid city. :)

Kacey said...

I can totally picture you living on a dairy farm! Maybe you could make it your country house? ;-)

Kristin said...

Love the barn! We have a barn on our property, it's small, I dream of having a huge barn with a studio loft all nice and warm from the breath of the cows below...BTW Anthro boots will hold up to chickens...chicken test here...not happy about it though and those darn birds knew it; have you ever been stalked by chickens?!?!...To have them take flight behind you...coming at you....follow you up the steps into your home and stare at you with their beady little eyes through the window...shudder...maybe I'll feel better when they start to lay eggs...but right now I'm having nightmares! ;0)
Would definitely be there to your dairy barn sale...to heck with the husband and his cows...maybe I could just bring them with me...it looks like it could house a few cows! ;0)

Laura said...

sounds lovely.
I'd give it two days, though, before you left running. And from scratch? Really, Kasey? It's us you are talking to. Scratch does not involve mac OR cheese or a microwave.
Call me crazy...but anything with DAIRY BARN in it sounds like it is miles and miles to the nearest Anthro.

Of course, I too, dream of moving to Kansas, and my husband just laughs and laughs at me...

I think it is nice to dream of a simple life..nature..chicken...farms...

but the key word there is DREAM.

oh screw it, count me in...let's move to the farm house together...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the prefect apron!

Just found your blog from the flying bee. so funny! It would be fun to have a farm. I have horses, but board them, so no farm....You are so lucky to have a Realtor friend {I'm one too} Just kidding! :) Love the blog.

I am also farmhouse dreaming... my husband shares the dream, however, he has a very realistic grasp on our finances!! So, I too am only dreaming of my own farmhouse.
And chickens?!?!? Don't get me started! I want them too! The creep Mark out! My cousin has chickens and brings me farm fresh eggs and there is definitely a difference!!!
We have recently discovered our dream town which has plenty of the farms, but also the cutest little town too... so we are also "in town" dreaming but only in one town.
About the Chick-fil-a, I find I only want it on Sundays!

Oooh! Sweet! Did you know that I have always (okay..maybe not always..but probably since the eighties and some episode of Remington Steele or some gosh awful mini-series where I saw the hero or heroine swerve into the livery yard in their ivory Excalibur and the chickens went flying...clucking for dear life)...I have always wanted to have a place like that...where the chickens go flying when you drive through the gate.

Wouldn't that be nice? That property looks just lovely, Kasey! Ya'll would fit right in!

Oh my gosh Kasey, are we sharing the same brain?! My husband thinks that I am totally crazy but then, he's known that for a while now. I am always pointing out the gorgeous farmhouses in our town. I dream of a big beautiful farmhouse with crazy big windows that I can watch the kids playing in the yard from. Lots of land with an old, weathered fence around it that the kids like to sit on. Big tree climbing trees for the boys and land to ride horses on. Now, I din't say, I would be mucking stalls or anything but going for horseback rides on our property would be pretty fantastic. Oh my, I could go on and on. Perhaps I should do so on my own blog instead of in the comments section on your's;)

a sale in a dairy barn. that sounds great! and so does the jeans with the cute apron while your getting your eggs. a girl certainly can dream.

Even though I do have a little chicken coop with chickens and a tiny cottage on acreage, i still dream of a big white farmhouse and yes, yes, yes, a barn! For my studio. This place is gorgeous!

I dream of a farm. Even though my husband {who grew up on a sort-of farm in Id} says there is too much dirt for me;) I still dream. Last April we got 6 chickens.... one for each of us. They have been laying beautiful brown and greenish blue eggs since August. It has been a great experience for both us and the kids.
btw... lovin all the white as always:)
