the art of restyling...

Remember this pic above from my living room last month, where i asked you all to help me define my style?

Well....I've been a busy bee.............

come take a peek.....

the art of re-styling.....

Remember the bench that i picked up at the Flea? Well, I moved the little white dresser that was in front of the window, and placed the bench there, I also got rid of the rug , and by doing that..it opened up the whole room.

2 new armchairs and a new sofa, both slip covered from the lovely Ikea.

*sigh*

And before any of you say "I can't do white with children...................."

my home is full of white, yes it is, and you know what??? It's lived in and loved, so when you walk in the doors, feel free to make yourselves at home.

Sometimes i even let the children play with their toys......that is....sometimes.

Your place is beautiful! I want white furniture too and people look at me like I've got two heads when I say it out loud. I don't know what the big deal is. I, personally, don't let my kids wander the house in chocolate covered appendages :)

Congrats to the winners. I do wish it was me. Sigh. Take care.

Hey Lady! It looks great! I have that same white slipcovered IKEA couch, although I was washing the white slipcover so often I have put it in storage and replaced it with beige UNTIL I can get myself a second white slipcover. You are right, though, they wash up BEAUTIFULLY!

Congrats to the winners.

I like this a lot better somehow. Seems a lot more open and airy. Casual and inviting, too. That was a lot of adjectives. Love the new white furniture, in other words. :) It wouldn't last a minute with a large grey dog that often has muddy paws and sheds like crazy though.

Oh you bought the couch and chairs~ They look great. I think my problem with the white is just plain OCD. I would be a mess all day watching for spots. So for you props!!!

I love the mirror on your coffee table with the glass jars. I especially love the glass cloches on top of your armoire!

I love the white on white decorating scheme...makes me want to curl up on your couch and read a good book.

Any tips on what you use to remove stains on those sofas? How do you keep them so white? Special clothing soap or bleach?

Kasey said...

Touch of Country: I am a firm believer in slip covered with children and pets. and with white, you just throw in the wash with some bleach.
I also *heart* the little bleach pen that you can dab on little stains and they magically disapear.

I love the changes Kasey! I have been eyeing that same sofa from Ikea. It is nice to see it in someones home that has similar( as in almost identical;) taste as me. I might just have to hop off of that fence that I have been riding and buy it! Great job sweetie, as usual:)

Good morning Kasey :)

Your living room looks beautiful! Oh and I'm the one that can't live with white furniture... (raising hand).. slight clutz issue here! LOL

Congratulations to the very lucky winners!

I love that shed in the last post too, but when I read that article I had a hard time believing it would only cost 1000 bucks. We just built a bench in the pantry and it cost $200.. hmmm... I think they're full of it ;)
