tuesday photo challenge...

If you love photography like i do, and peruse Flickr on a daily basis, then you probably know about this girl called Olivia Bee. She's a 15 year old girl who has an amazing talent and the way she showcases her images...mostly of herself....is amazing.

I wanted to challenge myself. I want to challenge myself.

What I really wanted was to take Susannah's class that starts May 4th, called "Unravelling.....ways of seeing myself". Susannah Conway is the author of one of my fav blogs called Ink on my fingers, she also is a photographer and was offering this E-class online. Well....needless to say...I had it on my calender to sign up and when my friend Vana emailed me over the weekend to see if I had signed up yet, I immediately hopped over to get signed up only to find out that the class had filled up.

Why oh why do I wait till the last minute for these things!!!!

{click on the picture above to see the info for the class}

So I ask myself, while i wait for the July classes to start, why not challenge myself to my own ways of seeing my self? Except....I'm not going to photograph myself like my favorite little lady Olivia Bee.........

I'm going to photograph little Lola. She is my inspiration after all. So I start today.

I went back and grabbed just a few photo's i had and posted them. I'll do some more for next Tuesday as well.

Would you like to join me? I'd love to link you! It's not about editing the photo's, but capturing and image.
Ready?

I love the "sad" look! Those are some of my absolute favorite photos of my kiddos. Smiles are overrated. I prefer "real life"!

Your pictures are great. I don't have an eye for this, so always have to hand it to someone that does.

Have a great day!

I would love too! I have a problem with my love of Lightroom, is that okay, or do you want the photos completely un-edited? I have a photo of Layla that I just took that I LOVE. I'll post mine later today.

Olivia Bee's work is quite stunning! I saw her work on another blog... amazing. There are soooo many talented photographers in the blogging community!

I used to be into fine art photography- awhile ago though. I'm not as connected anymore and I feel like I"m wwwaayy behind on the latest photography gear. In the summer of 2000, I took this wonderful photography course at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. The school is quite close to Smoky Mountain National Park in TN. I kinda miss my hobby...

I'm a horrible photographer. (If you can't tell from the pics on my blog.) I like to blame it on my cheap camera...but I know better.

Lola is so cute with a little bit of attitude. Love it!

That Walmart story is hillarious! Of Course...only at Wally's!

Which child would I choose?

Why don't you photograph yourself?

I find that sometimes, this approach evolves into an unabashed sense in the camera....like meditating alone, or gardening alone....or singing alone!

I'm with you if you really do this?
or did you start?

maybe another cup of coffee would do me good eh?

I love the effects you add also. What a perfect subject you have:) And a spare too!

Feel free to pop over to my blog whenever you'd like. I add pics quite frequently. I love seeing things in a new light. Now if only I could learn how to use my camera to IT's full potential. :)

Hi Kasey, Thank you for visiting my blog. You're pictures are lovely. I've yet to be blessed with having kids...and lately I've been busy dressed in my home restoration best...so, I took a picture of my lunch. You can see it on my green day blog. I adjusted just about everything BUT the tint. : )

Have a beautiful day!

ps "The Little Red Window" belongs to the bungalow I'm restoring. I took several pix of the great old windows just before the house was moved to our property. The leaves you see in the picture are from when the house met the tree which sat in it's front yard for many decades. I plan to blog on the window series and the bungalow rescue soon...
