actually...just over two weeks if anyone was counting.
I'm at the stage where i am putting everything together...
and getting organized.
I have a feeling i will be all packed this weekend.
Remember when you were pregnant with your first child...
you had a list for the hospital on what to pack...
a checklist...
remember how you had your list all checked off...
and packed a good two months before
your baby was even due.
yup....
i did the same.
It made you feel like it's official...
bag is packed...
now i can have the baby.
Then as your due date came closer..you would unpack your bag...
only to make sure everything was still there...
and then re-pack it.
Just to make sure.
I'm sure you did it more then once....
i'm just saying...
it happens.
Like this trip of mine.
It's a dream that in turn is becoming a reality.
Except this time...
i'm not having a baby...i'm travelling to France.
I have dreamt about this for years....
and it's becoming a reality.
I am blessed.
I am thankful.
just in case Kim and I decide we need one.
Kim told me NO....
there is no room for our luggage..
Seriously....
how much does she think i'm packing?
I know i said i was ONLY
going to pack 3 pairs of shoes....
but i bought 3 pairs today....
in addition to the three i was already going to bring.
Have i mentioned yet that we are renting a manual
car while we are in the south of France?
Manual=stick shift
I haven't driven a manual since high school...
neither has Kim.
Manual+narrow roads+french signs= Lost girls.
Unless we get lost down in the french riviera...
and end up meeting George Clooney..
who has a yacht down there.
hmmm.
Needless to say...
i think a Vespa is sounding better and better.
would have just walked right by them...
i would have.
i promise.
Except.....they were on sale.....
and i have a feeling
will be walking the streets of Paris...
so i must be prepared.
and they were
not on sale.
boo hiss.
I then remembered that my husband has decided
to have lasik eye surgery next week...
which he informed me that
he will be laid up for a day or so.
I'll be taking care of him...
and my three kids.
I decided at that point...
what's an extra pair of shoes.
because i couldn't just throw my beloved
5oD
into just any ole purse while i wander around the
streets of Paris.
NO
i couldn't.
Her name is Ginger....
even though i really LOVED the Lola...
but red and i don't really get along...
so Ginger it is.
She's cute....
and so versatile...
with compartments inside for all my lenses.
{ahem}
Maybe a few more if i can figure out which shoes to
not bring.
I promised myself that i wouldn't be
that girl
who over packs.
{sigh}
My darling neighbor gave me her birthday discount card for Anthro.
I haven't stepped into that place for a good....
ummmm....
hmmmm....
couple of months.
errr...
maybe it hasn't been that long....
for sure it's been a couple of weeks...
at least.
I think.
hmmm.
oh well....
who's counting...right?
you girls are amazing.

I'm sure if The Sartorialist spots you roaming the streets of Paris, he will snap you up in those wonderful boots!
I am just so jealous. Colour me green!!!!
You will have a fabulous time with two of my most favorite people..
I love the shoes.
Zizette
If you want, I can help remind you how long it has been since you have visited Anthro...
If we rent vespas, we will be on *separate* vespas thus not able to chat. No chatting=No fun.
And think of the stories we will have from our stick shift adventures!
xx
So excited for you!!!! I can not wait to read your posts about the trip...
I never did receive the gift cert you tried to resend. No worries, just did not want you to think I am not gracious.

The last pic (pink dress) looks like it just walked right our of 1940...so sweet! I love the gray heels a lot! I hope you will be blogging on this trip...cause I want to go along with you..you will share won't you?! Come say hi :D
How super fun! I love your outfits! Romantic without the foof! I hope you survive the wait!
Love, Katy! = )
Oh lovely, lovely, lovely! All of it, the shoes, the Ginger bag, and the outfits! You are going to have an amazing time! As for the manual driving, it's like riding a bike, you will be just fine! Have fun with your packing!
I've always been of the opinion that the shopping for the clothing/footwear for the trip was half the fun of the trip itself. If that's so, you're already on your way to a marvelous time : )!!
Have fun!! Im so excited to see your photos when you return. Shoes: oh I love my cowgirls boots but this first pair of shoes are soooo cute..I could trade in y boots for those..I think you made the best choice and got them all.
I was at the book store today and happened to be in the travel section and saw a book on France and thought of you. Happy count down... Oh and you look HOT HOT HOT on that vespa...
I'm imagining the trip as you speak...and you wearing those darling outfits.
Have a wonderful time, and post tons of pics!
Have a FAB time! Hopefully no cobblestones for you in those heels! ;) And you have to leave room for all the stuff that you're bringing back!
Bonjour Lola,
You girls are going to have the best time! My only advice, make sure you break in your new shoes BEFORE you hit the Paris streets - trust me on this...
Love that sweet pair you're wearing on riding the scooter.
Good evening to you,
Mimi
Love those dresses! Too cute! Have a blast in France! :)
Smiles,
rachel
I'm so excited! And I'm not even going. I probably don't have to say this, the wonderful blogger that you are, but keep a journal. Write EVERY thing down. We took a big family reunion trip to Italy 3yrs ago (19 of us!) and I wish I had written more. It goes soooo fast! Enjoy :)

Isn't it great when dreams come true!
Bon Voyage
aahadley offers excellent advice. My father took me on trips as a child and always insisted we get up before daybreak and walk in the early morning light- we would always write our first impressions on a new place, before any photos are taken, take in the view, write your thoughts and then start clicking the camera
Helen Tilston
Oh it's going to be so wonderful! I bet you're on pins & needles:) Please tell us where you found that fab camera bag...it's so stinking cute!

The perfect boots for French travelling...Leave some room in that bag for all those things you shouldn't buy......xv
Love your clothes and style. A word from a gal who lives in Eurpope, yours truly, Julie, bring flats. When I was in Paris, I believe I walked at least four miles a day. Fun shoes are great too. Have a great great trip. I'm so envious. Vivre la France.
Julie
By the way I'm giving away a painting on my blog if you leave a comment by March 24th. Good luck!

Oh, what fun! I'm looking forward to hearing all about you trip to France. I've never had a child..but I am blessed with lovely memories of the summer I spent in Europe. I was only in Paris for 3 days...but I hope to return soon!
Have a blessed time!
: )
Julie M.
ps Make sure to keep and eagle eye on your pocket book.
we euoropeans say that "if you do not drive a manual car, then you shouldn't drive at all", because driving is not just going from point A to point B, it is much more...
I hope you will have a wonderful time and weather, because lately we had strange weather conditions in entire Europe- snow blizard in Barcelona, Italy etc.
AnaM
I can tell this will be the first of many trips to France for you...I thought going once was a dream come true...I've been 3 times...and looking for more.. its a drug... be careful...
LOVE those first shoes! Love, love, love them! You are going to have a fantabulous trip.
But...wait...wha? wha? WHAT?!?! are these Anthro bday discount cards? I've never heard about these. Need deets!
Kacey, the moment has almost arrived...it's just SENSIBLE to be prepared and it's not allow to go to France without the RIGHT pair of shoes and clothes. The ones you bought are PERFECT!!. (Love the yellow sandals...will I find some alije in Italy???) I saw from the guide that you're going also to the south...MMMMMMM I've been to Provence many times, this year I couldn't afford another weekend in Provence but I won't renounce....
Very emotioned for you girls, it's so great to travel and just girls...you'll have a LOOOT of fun. I can see you!!

CUTE shoes! You will have an amazing trip! Don't worry too much about the car. Years ago my ex and I rented a manual stick shift in S. France and it was fine....it'll be an adventure though, filled with many laughs.
Your post helped me get that giddy feeling I've been longing for about the trip! :) It still seems so surreal to me though...my God, we're going to Paris...eeek...and I haven't even thought about packing yet...now I'm nervous too! Love, love, love the shoes!!!

I love love love that last dress! Have a fabulous trip :)
Magnifique!
Have a great time in Paris - but just remember (I learned this from first-hand experience) if you pack to much you could pull your back out while running for a train to somewhere.
But it will be worth it because you will be in PARIS, France.
Sounds so fun! Love love all the shoes, great choices! Have a great time!!!!
You are so funny Kasey, I cannot believe we are going to be sharing a room, I may not sleep at all!!
Great post....LOVE the shoes....you are going to give those French chicks a run for their money....and I love that you are already packing :)
PS Love your new header, keep meaning to tell you that every time I visit, love the splash of purple in it.
I absolutely L O V E the bag! Please. please, please share where you found it? I have a camera bag fetish and am always looking for one that I can use as a purse and a camera bag.

Barbara
How exciting!
That is going to be a BLAST!!!!!!!!!! Love those outfits...and the shoes! I would seriously have to find a place to go JUST to buy those boots!
great purchases!
I LOVE reading you blog. You make me smile every single time I stop by. I know that you will have a wonderful time.
Oh-la-la!! You're sure to have a memorable trip...cannot wait to read all about it and see the fabulous pictures I know you both will take!! Enjoy the anticipation to your departure day, it's 1/2 the fun. Okay maybe a quarter!!
Kare
NOTHING - repeat NOTHING is MORE fun than losing yourself on the French Riviera!! Have a great time and sorry I will miss you!
Well ~ it is settled now ~ I will come along and be your driver!! Can I?? Your new shoes are beautiful and as always ~ you make me smile each and every time I come and visit!
your outfits are gorgeous and I adore the sweet shoes but truthfully I think your little footsies are going to be blistered!
PS.
I leave April 1st to go to Paris- I know your anticipation :)
I am so excited for you! I love the camera bag and the mustard shoes the best!!!!!
Lucky you....ok the key to having fun abroad is PACK LIGHT. I have been there 3 times and always wished I had pack 1/2 of what I took. My favorite near Nice is Ville France up in hills an artists town that is so much more than words can explain...also Eze. In Paris, you can't miss Sacre Couer and Montmare where the painters market place is also up there right by the church....that is also where the best flea markets in Paris are....heaven!
J'adore Paris - when I was last there we stayed in a gorgeous boutique hotel in the Le Marais district on 19 rue du bourg-tibourg 75004 Paris; worth a sneaky peak in their rooms - they are beautifully designed http://www.bourgtibourg.com/
I am so very jealous....and I love the mustard shoes you are taking, they remind me of my favourite blue shoes shoes I have from Comptoir des Cotonniers. I will post a picture for you on my blog:
http://turning-a-leaf.blogspot.com/
Be sure and have tea at Mariagefreres! You can google for directions. It's simply fabulous. And of course you must have macaroons at Laduree. I must say, when I went in 2008 I'm sure my mouth was wide open the whole time in awe of such a beautiful city. We'll all be here waiting to hear all of your impressions of this fabulous city! Have an incredible time!
I hope you have the time of your life. Your outfits are adorable....and vacations are always that much more fun when you feel pretty. ;)
Enjoy every minute of it,
Gail
Who's arms are those? hee hee. great taste on the dresses and shoes lady!
love it, can't wait to see pictures from France! travel safely!
Your blog ..... it's amazing and soooo inspiring. Nice to find you!
A small footprint from Agneta & Sweden
Ps. I have an ongoing jewelry contest on my blog. Welcome! Ds
I hate to be practical and boring, but make sure you bring some really comfy walking shoes, even if they're not the cutest. I spent a week in France a few years ago, and believe me you will regret it if you wear shoes that hurt your feet. I'd pick the two most comfy pair you own and bring them, and leave the heels behind! We tried to pack in as much as possible, and after a few days my feet were so sore I could hardly walk- if it weren't for my ultra cushy bottomed sandals, I never would have made it! Have fun!
Hi Kasey! I've just discovered you and your blog on Houzz! How wonderful to be featured there. Your home looks amazing and I'm thrilled to hear you're getting to take your trip of a lifetime to France!! Have a wonderful time and while you're gone I'm gonna stroll and stroll through your blog. I won't mess up your house or anything, I promise!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
have the best best time!! love the shoes
I sure hope you're going to post while in France. At least Tweet? I'm following you everywhere, so you better have fun.
You need scarves, ballerina, dresses and leggins or long t-shirt with leggins...
You are going with kim? just the 2 of you? I'm so envious... I've been to paris 3 years ago with my best friend and I remember every single thing we made!
Have fun!
Looks like you are ready to go! I am so jealous! Please pop by my blog if you have a moment in your Paris prep as I have given you a blog award! :)
Oh I'm just getting back in town...I am behind...but glad you are not in your packing:) You will be the best dressed girl in France...I just know it. I am super excited for you and just cannot wait to hear ALL about it...that is if you will share details about your adventures as I am sure you will:)
You are so cute! Love your new shoes and clothes! What a great neighbor to have...you lucky duck!! Hope you have a blast!!

Hello sweet Kasey - I've been out of the loop for a couple of months. So good to be back visiting my fave friends and catching up. I'm so excited about your trip. Can't wait to hear about all the amazing adventures that await you! Love, love the shoes - you had to have them. They will be perfect walking around the streets of Paris. And you earned them in advance for all the extra things you're going to be taking care of when you're hubby is out of commission.
Blessings,
Marie
