Rainy days and spring haze.....

It rained most of the weekend.

I don't mind.....because it's better then snow in my opinion.

I also realize it is only the middle of march...

and with this being my 3rd spring here...

i have a feeling this fabulous weather is just teasing us.

I don't think i would want the rain everyday....

something about frizzy hair...

but one weekend in just fine.

windows cracked open

wet cement

worms

rain boots

umbrellas

puddle jumping

laughing

yelling

mud

happy children

{though i wouldn't be honest if i didn't tell you that finding worms ...

that fell out of pockets into the washing machine...

and made it into the dryer...

only to be found while folding laundry ...

is just not a fun end to the day}

We also experienced Alice in wonderland.

loved it.

love.

love.

love.

I bought lola this new skirt...

only to get her in it...

snap a few photos...

and have her tell me that she doesn't like puffy.

I'd just like to thank the specialty children's boutique for letting us

BORROW

that gorgeous skirt.

.....

Mason went to his first concert on Saturday....

i gave him my ticket to see the black eyed peas.

Bryan and mason took the train into chicago saturday morning

in time to see the river turn green.

Chicago does that every year for the st. paddy's day parade.

They also spent the night...it was a boys weekend.

I remember my first concert....it was

The Jackson Five

then two months later i got to see

Madonna

i was in 5th grade...my dad moonlit as a security guard

at Dodger stadium.....

so he was able to get me and my girlfriends into these concerts

for free.

I look back now and think of myself as an 10/11 year old

at the "like a virgin tour".

I will forever remember it...

and i hope Mason remembers his first concert...

not just the concert itself...but a night away with his dad.

Last night i rented the movie...Coco before Chanel.

It was really good....

and today i'm making crab cakes with mango salsa.

yum.

oh...did you want the recipe....

sure....no problem..

because it's been about two weeks now hasn't it.

xo

{winner of giveaway coming soon...i just have to get thru Fin's 5 year shots today}

What a fun boys' weekend. You are so good to make that happen for them. And your sweet photos or Lola in her borrowed skirt are precious.

that skirt is just precious! at least you got a few pics of Lola in it. My favorite has to be those lime green rain boots...do you think they come in adult sizes???

she looks so cute in that skirt!!!

Absolutely LOVE the "puffy" skirt with the rain boots. But I have one like that too. She doesn't like things that are "fat out." ::sigh::

You tell Lola that she looks beautiful in "puffy"!!

Lola's borrowed skirt is pretty and dreamy. Perfect for photos. What a good mom you are for giving up your ticket and letting them have a boy's weekend!

ADORE that borrowed skirt and those rain boots. LOL

I saw Alice and Wonderland with my parents on Friday and it was truly enjoyable. I was hoping to see the Coco movie, glad to hear it is good.

Mmmmmm mango salsa with crab cakes! I'm really understanding this two week thing. hahahaha

Best of luck with photos!

Loved the crinoline on your daughter. You'll have to look at my last post, I got a photo of my granddaughter in one that came out adorable. She is only a year and half and so far seems to like the pretties. Yeah for me and mom. Hope your rain stops soon. Florence

My dog came inside this weekend with a big, fat, long, gross worm on top of his head!!! Yuck. Had to give him a bath. He stunk. I thought that was the worst. After reading about your worm, I'm not so sure!!

Looking foward to crab cakes and mango salsa!

Good luck with those shots....offer him a cupcake :)

Life's so good!

P.S. my word verification is "iplambi"! What kind of word is that? I don't think it really is a word. I think that the computer just makes them up to laugh at us all. Humpf!

Love the puffy skirt....have a feeling my daughter is not going to like puffy either. She is 1 and already prefers her brother's matchbox cars to her princess dolls. Oh well.
What a cool concert for a first concert. I still remember my 1st concert...George Michael "The Faith tour". My dad bought the tickets and wow! Wanted to see Madonna sooooo badly, but my parents said no. Somehow I think my dad misconstrued the titles of the tours as symbolic of the lyrics & meanings. LOL. Weren't they surprised.
Cannot wait to see the 5 year old pics. I still have to post my 5 year old pics of my son- he turned 5 in November. OOPS. Hope you have a fabulous Sunday.

Aww, don't you hate the spring "tease", I have gotten used to it living the midwest my whole life! But at least it comes to tease to give a happy glimpse.

Sorry Lola didn't like her fabulous skirt. Aww, at least you have pics of it! Now I want to go find that movie, sounds great!

Your recipe sounds good, I am waiting for it! Hope Fin's shots go smoothly today!

Made your fancy mac n cheese last week, the hubby & I LOVED it. The kids did too, but I think I over did it on the pepper, my one year old would take a bite and then suck down half a cup of water. But he still ate a big plate of it, I had to refill his water cup 3 times.

So glad I'm not the only one who has been guilty of a "borrow" from a store. But really, I wear it once and then decide I don't LOVE it... so it goes back... nothing wrong with that!?

Thanks for the recommendation of Coco Before Chanel- I looked at it twice in Red Box this weekend and walked away with Precious (disturbing!) and Up. I'll have to check it out now though.

Can't believe about the worms. I have definitely found some unexpected things in the dryer that I missed from their pockets, such as... gold coin chocolates but weren't chocolate anymore, but a mess, crayons which then melted, and them some clam shells that I think still had a creature living in it, ooh not a good smell.

Wish Lola liked the skirt, she looks darling!

Oh Lola, wear poofy and ruffly while you can. Look how sweet she is in this borrowed skirt. Lolas face looks to be healing up nicely...
I dont know why my comment didn't show up on the i wanna win the ruffly shade. It's super sweet and every girl should have ruffles..

That's funny because I planned on getting a "tutu" skirt for the Princess to add to those same wellies from Target for a photo session. I tell ya, great minds think alike!!

Wishing that Lola loved that skirt as much as I do!! First concert ~ how cool. I remember mine ~ I was in Grade 8 and Dad dropped us off and picked us up again ~ I still remember the date and think about it every year. How cool that you got to see the Jackson 5 and Madonna so close together ~ sounds like the 70's and 80's colliding together! Enjoy your worms Kasey ~ counting down to Paris with you, Kim & Simone...a little green here and it has nothing to do with St. Paddy's day!

You have to love the rain if your in WA state too.
Rainy weekends are a wonderful excuse to snuggle in for a couple days and enjoy a book, cup of tea and a movie.

Well, I am loving that skirt. too bad they don't make it in my size. Course, that might not be sooo cute. My first concert? AC/DC- cause all the cute guys were into it. Proof is, my boyfriend, who is a cutie at 45, was at the SAME concert as me- I was 15- he was17. Didn't even know him.
